Naughty or Nice Event – sGE

It’s Christmas season again, the season of giving and sharing and happiness… Not quite so for sGE though, since the top players aren’t really sharing (making them even higher on the rankings than possible while the poor souls who aren’t hard core enough to suffer) while others whine about management problems, bugs, lags and other whatnots (does this game have to be lost then you all will learn?).

Well, for me, I take everything at my own little pace, not affected at all by whatever they say. Maybe this could be another reason that it took me a good year and half to finally reach level 100 on Sunday.

Anyway… the event is the same as the one held last year. So rules are still pretty much the same. Here they are for players who joined after last year’s Christmas.

  1.
    1. Select 3 items that you wish Santa to grant you on Christmas Day. Please note that only one will be selected from the 3, so choose wisely!
    2. Strain your brain and create pieces of art (in the form of artwork, screenshot captions, poems, short stories, photoshop works, videos etc.) related to Granado Espada and/or Christmas to show your love for the special day.
    3. Hand them in at the forums before 24th December 2008, 1200 hours (GMT +8) in the respective threads for your server (Bach; Rembrandt)
    4. Be present on 25th and 26th December 2008 at the time slots for your server (1500 – 1600 hours for players of Bach; 1600 – 1700 hours for players of Rembrandt)
    5. Take note of the names called out during this one hour, for it can only be repeated for 3 times.
    6. Respond to Santa by using a Microphone to declare to the server and particularly Santa that you are online and ready to receive one of your 3 wishes!

Since I have already posted up my entry, doesn’t hurt to do it again, right?

A Desert Storm for my Female Fighter

A Le Blanc (Wizard) for my Wizard

A Le Blanc (Wizard) for my Male Wizard

A Le Blanc (Scout) for my Male Scout

Santa seems to be a little too jutting from the pictures… While drawing these, I suddenly adopted a very serious tone, even though the season is to be merry and happy. With much thinking, I pulled off something that will include Santa into the artwork as well. Hopefully… I can get my wish granted…

Merry Christmas to all readers!

Some doodles

Just one piece I drew while working on my Christmas gift for GE’s naughty or nice event. Just thought that I will prepare for the event earlier, though I need more reference pictures and some more brainstorming on better poses.

Anyway, here’s the female fighter, male wizard and male scout.

The street outside the glass windows bustles with activity as passers-by travel towards their destinations. Reever gazes out, quietly observing the crowd as they move on. Roy sets down his own cup of Ceylon Tea (sweetened with 5 sugar cubes) on the table between them and leans back on his own chair, idly humming a song to himself. The waitress arrives with Reever’s order: Darjeeling and Strawberry Mousse Cake. It was proceeded to be set on the table and Reever turns towards her, flashing a smile at her. “Thank you,” He glanced at her nametag, “Vega.”

I rarely give this sort of small story for every picture I draw. I think they depend on what kind of artwork I have presented, and whether I have the inspiration to write any.

A Day at ICafe with Lés Faction mates

Nah… it wasn’t even a day… more like just 2 to 3 hours spents playing GE at ICafe today. However, my experience bar did shoot at a very amazing speed today, 60% within that span of time (maybe less).

I met Emmylia (Inanna/Alfender), llyse (Delkhaze), shalador and lithinia today at my first outing with the girls of Lés Faction. The exception of the group was shalador, who belonged to xXx Faction. I guess sometimes, simply hanging around at a cafe and talking/gossiping can be quite refreshing.

Although, I didn’t know I will bump into karei and tenma at Citylink Mall today, while I was still at Gelare. HI KAREI~~~

Talk aside, here’s a screenshot of the day we had at ICafe, taken before we went for PvP (Emmy and me vs. Lith, shala and llyse).

For the musks of my family

Lol, i just reached lv. 64 for my 2 stock musks and the only thing on my mind is the wigs! Male and female musketeers get wigs from Andre’s costume box, two each. They are basically a chopped hairstyle from what they have on default plus some dyed hair, black for male and brown for female. looks nice, looks cool~ (in my opinion)

Female musketeer in brown wig

Now I’m training them at Rion Prairie, collecting the undefined blue green stones for the rumin refinery machine quest at the same time. I just need a heck load of patience for this… I do hope to see them in Andre’s garb soon!

Life in GE

Oh ho, this title is sure to be reused a lot of times… truly… Anyway, the main topic will just be some happenings in-game, Family affairs and maybe screenshot spamming?

Might as well start. Finally, after more than a year in this game, I am level 92. Freak, other boys/men/girls/women can get to this level in merely a month or even less if you’re power-leveling. For I, it takes more than 12 months. Ouch. I shudder to think how long will it take for me to finally reach Expert level. And then, there’s the woes about AR/DR. Darn, I want to get those elites some nice AR DR boost, preferably +3, yet I don’t even have the vis to afford the enchantment chips. And with the need of enchantment tranquilizers for elimination of no stats added to the equipment with each enchantment chip used, I need G-points too. What’s a student to do…

What do I need the vis for?

  1. Enchantment Chips
  2. lv. 100 Gladiator’s Armor/E. 92 Elite Bone Frame Armor/lv. 100 Le Blanc for Fighter
  3. Lv. 84 Pizarro and Shaft Hammer
  4. Elite Lv. 84 Mustang Strider/Elite Lv. 84 Claude Baudez Nique/Lv. 92 Quattro Pinned/Lv. 100 Desert Storm (yeah right)

What do I need the G-points for?

  1. Veteran scrolls x3
  2. Enchantment Tranquilizers
  3. Enhancement Boosters (maybe)
  4. Imperviums (maybe)
  5. Mystery Powders x125
  6. Lots of miscellaneous stuff to earn Vis

In conclusion, I need money.

On a plus side, I somehow managed to kill Romina in three tries, battling her 51 AR/DR with my two characters with 50 AR and one with 50 DR. No deaths either on the third try. So she’s created, taking the place of the lv. 47 female wizard (whom I very much hate due to some external influence) and named Rosalynne. One more character from Ustiur to recruit, Grandice… Some sort of dream, really… having me to battle 2 bosses…

Arenntos’ Forgotten Quests (Ustiur)

There’s a forgotten quest in Giliam’s full quest guide. Search for the area ‘Ustiur’ and see here:

Quest: The Fishermen Arenntos
NPC + Location: Arenntos, Ustiur Base Camp
Reward: 3x Nandaz
Difficulty:
1. Talk to Arenntos to complete the quest

Seems weird, no? how can you get 3 Nandaz by just talking to Arenntos when you did nothing for him? A saying goes that there is no free meal in this world, and the same applies to here as well. Hence, I shall add in the forgotten bits of the quest.

To begin with, let’s take a look at the Estevan’s quests. Here’s the first post regarding Estevan’s quests:

Quest: The Way to a Farm
NPC + Location: Estevan, Ustiur Base Camp
Reward: EXP Card
Difficulty:
1. Hunt for Golden Fruit and bring them to Estevan
2. You will be teleported to an instance
3. Destroy the 2 stones and fight a dinosaur
4. Talk to Estevan to complete the quest

Ok, so it’s pretty straight forward, but look closely and recall, do any monsters in Ustiur drop something called ‘Golden Fruit’? Nope, so here’s the place to get this mysterious item.

1. Initiate the quest by collecting some food items that can be found at Ustiur Zona Tres or the 3rd Zone of Ustiur Jungle, C4 and B3.
2. At C4, you will find this field of Jungle Millet, some of which you can actually attack. They drop the Golden Fruit which you are looking for.
3. At B3, you find this stone tucked away behind another stone. Clicking on it gives you a Tuberous Root.
4. Return to the Base Camp and give these food items to Estevan.

After that, just continue on with what Giliam has written in his quest guide.

Now, you’ve gotten access to the Ustiur Farm where the Golden Egg Fruit can be harvested from. From here, find Arenntos at the Ustiur Base Camp, D7.

1. He will request that you go to the Farm and get Golden Millet Branches, roughly 80 of them, by hitting the harvested millet.
2. Then, find this old man located at E11.
3. Do not give him the money, just say that Arenntos has told you to come find him.
4. Let him take his time in making the High Quality Fishing Rod and he will finally hand it over. Report to Arenntos to get your reward. You will now be able to buy Nandaz from him.
5. He will give you a new quest to hunt for 100 Dinosaur Tails from the Velociraptors at Ustiur Zone Uno ONLY.
6. After completing, he will give you Arowana and the fish shop now sells this fish as well.

Quest complete! :D

Low Grade Collection Quest (Lv. 1-80)

Low Grade Collection Quest (Lv. 1 – 80)

Even though they say that this is for characters of lv. 1 – 80, my lv. 87 peeps are still able to do this quest, and with much reapings too! Here’s a walkthrough:

  1. Be at City of Auch and find the Rumin Refinery Machine beside Claire at E5/F5.
  2. Select this quest.
  3. Follow the instructions.
  4. Check the details box of this quest to see where you can get the stones.

The quest looks like this:

Low Grade Collection Quest (Lv. 1-80)

Low Grade Collection Quest (Lv. 1-80)

You are to head to

  • Old Port of Coimbra and locate the skeletons there (the Old Port’s full of them).
  • Bonavista River and locate the Storm Cockatrices (not that good, the River is known for its too low spawn rate, plus you might see lots of people camping there due to Claire’s recruitment quest).
  • El Canon de Diabolica and locate the Dupesteens (average spawn rate).

If you are of level 80-odd, come down El Canon de Diabolica and have a good time collecting the Undefined Blusih Green Stones. Take note that this stone is not a quest item, but a misc. item to pick up straight from the ground. You are unable to sell them I think.

It’s over there, labeled like that whenever you kill a Dupesteen. The drop rate is one stone for one Dupesteen killed, so you can take this as some pioneering quest to kill 1,500 Dupesteens, Storm Cockatrices and Skeletons.

Drops in El Canon de Diabolica are:

  • Lv. 80 equipments
  • Treasure Cores
  • High Quality Cloth
  • Pure Talt, Pure Ionium and Pure Quartz
  • Beef

Plus, they gave me this!

The General Secret Temple

2.9 Feature: Fight Club Week (General Secret Temple)

What is this ‘General Secret Temple’, hmm? It’s the lower level version of the Secret Temple for players whose characters are below level 80 to join in and play~ But even though they say the maximum level to enter is level 80, my level 87 peeps are still able to enter! And I have to say the place is totally empty except for me…

The entire point of my trip to the Secret Temple is to try getting my hands on the Stones, those which you can sell to the Feso Merchant for Fesos. Till now, to no avail.

Here’s how to enter the Secret Temple, if you really don’t know.

  1. Locate the Secret Temple NPC at Thueringen Lakeside, D4. He’s an Auch Soldier, by the way.
  2. Wait for the warp gate to open at 12pm, 8pm and 10pm to enter the Secret Temple.
  3. On the other hand, you can simply wait for the notice that reminds players of the warp gate opening in 10 mins time, 5 mins time and when it has finally opened.
  4. When the notice is broaded that the gate to Secret Temple has opened, a warp gate will appear beside the Secret Temple NPC.
  5. Click on the gate and be sure to click General Secret Temple, no High Secret Temple. This difference can cost you your life and possibly make you think that you’re wasting your time at there, because of the high level monsters and players.

Once you are in, your location is randomly picked, but take in mind that the boss will appear in the middle of the map. I have a guess that the other players will appear as PK-able with a red identification signal above their heads, unless you’re pretty sure that there’s either no one in there (like me) or that everyone in the map are your squad mates. Still, be wary…

Next, have a look at the monsters. They don’t spawn much but they still pack a punch. The Gavi di Gavi is actually able to hit my levitating Wizard, so be careful!

General Secret Temple - Zombie Merman

General Secret Temple - Zombie Merman

Really, you can slack about for 30 mins upon entering the area, unless you are having problems beating the normal monsters in here. About 10 mins before the Boss appears, a notice will be broaded roughly 3 times. Take this moment to move yourselves to the middle of the map and stay there. And then…

General Secret Temple Boss - Hill Giant

General Secret Temple Boss - Hill Giant

In case you can’t see its class properly, it’s stated Lifeless/ Light Armor/ No Attribute/ Large

I went and fought. The Hill Giant’s first attack already killed my Fighter at the first shot, even though she’s wearing an Elite 68 Sunset-striped Suit. My wizard isn’t any better, with Andre’s Clara Mago protecting him. Only my Scout with Elite 84 Laranja e Preto was able to withstand its attacks, taking away less than a few hundred hit points.

On the account of attacking, use Elite 84 weapons or level 84 weapons with AR +1/2/3. Daggers are of little use on the Hill Giant, by the way, so maybe keeping your scout on healing mode is better.

Sidenote:

What’s more depressing for me is seeing all of these characters right in front of me! GUUHHHHHHHH…… I can guess that they must be at least of Expert level already…

Leaving Joaquin behind

It has actually been some time, roughly 3 to 4 days ago when I left Joaquin dungeons upon reaching level 84. This level is such a milestone for me seriously! How can it not be if you’ve been playing this game since POBT and that level is the highest you gotten to so far? Unbelievable… more than a year in the game and I’m not even close to level 100 yet…

Anyways, I was silly enough to pick up the pioneering quest of Gehanna Bridge, thinking that I will be back here for more training but no~ something pushed me to run straight into the wild Ustiur. I took up even more missions, which made the mission page look kind of cramped, making me quite stressed (in a way), so I returned back the Gehanna Bridge for what I will say be my last visit unless some day comes where I have to return to Joaquin to join in some Raid Boss hunting. I am happy to be able to say this out loud!

Joaquin! CONQUERED! (o.O)

Joaquin! CONQUERED! (o.O)

And forward to Ustiur~ where I saw two things that are of great impact to us all (for the second, Vets and Experts might be going ‘chey~ no AR +3 talk what?’ but come on, I’m a noob in level here, ok?).First, know the notice that goes on quite frequently nowadays, where someone either succeeds or fails enhancing an item to +8 or above? Failures are more frequent, especially those from +7 to +8. But this here is something…

Elite Mantis Rod breaks at 9 enhancement

Elite Mantis Rod breaks at 9 enhancement

So sad, so sad… And it’s an Elite item too, unless you’re meaning to say that Elite 84 equipment are too cheap for you (in which I shall pick up something heavy and throw it at your general direction).

Final picture, and then I’m off for now!

O.O

O.O

Guess my reaction when I saw this. I can say for one thing, to get lvl 80 equipment, go for Ustiur Zona Uno. Even though the area is catered for people with characters of level 84 or above, yet the equipment dropped is 4 levels lower? Absurd…

Greetings, Pioneers of the New World!

Alright, a late starter in the world of GE blogging, but nevertheless I shall hop onto the bandwagon and do whatever I can to share with everyone the new going-ons of Granado Espada.

My blog can never reach the standards of Ninemoons, which is very high for me as she relentlessly shares with everyone the latest news from 散歩道, the Japanese fansite that holds a whole lot of GE news, including latest version updates from Korea! I appluad at her posts in translating what each new version upgrade of GE has to offer to its players, from Japanese to English! I can’t do that, though I have a slight knowledge in the language but of course, to dare to do this is quite… *averts eyes*

Her guides, her experiences, she pens (er, scratch that, make it ‘types’ instead) them down, sharing with her readers her experience of the numerous features of Granado Espada, like the pet system for example. It is very worth it to be in there, reading her posts and gaining invaluable knowledge, especially for a relatively young player like me (in terms of level) and maybe you. Which brings me to the topic of the point of this whole blog~

I shall be keeping everything here related to GE in all ways possible, in numerous forms of media. My posts will start from the time which my characters are of level 86 in Granado Espada’s SEA/ANZ server, version 2.9.1. Here, I formally greet all readers coming across this first post of this brand new blog and hope that everyone can enjoy their stay here. I will be elated to have visitors coming back for subsequent trips!

This blog is a new life to my online self and I cordially hope that in the times to come, I can and may be of some help to anyone and everyone of all versions of the greatest MMORPG (in my honest opnion!) of all times, Granado Espada!

Enjoy your time~
