Late Christmas Present from IAHGames

To me, at least, I did receive one. Not too long ago IAHGames shared on their facebook and twitter that GE is now linked with iWallet, meaning you may use your credits in iWallet to purchase different denominations of cash points in any game you want. Why was it so good to me? Cos I thought I wasted $60 on a card that I couldn’t use straightaway in-game when I bought it to get some costumes from HCOF. Now… With the HCOF Winter Promotion going on, I’m just enjoying all of the Greek Croma costumes that I’ve always wanted ever since I saw the concept art and screenshots in the forums. Oh, and Edward’s only alternate costume too (That nice-looking guy desperately needed a change of clothes!).

Now all I need is Selva by his side

Maybe I should also mention that they slashed the price of the Dragonic series weapons by half (going at 1 Gold Token each) and I snagged myself the Rifle…

Dragonic Rifle! Now I have no need to craft one

Haven’t been playing much of GE ever since I found out that it can’t play quite well on my Windows 7. Something about the graphics card I think, but I’m too lazy to try reinstalling the program. On the other hand, my PC’s being used by my mother to watch some Japanese and Korean drama, so I can’t play on there either. So, meh, they’re just getting cooped up in the Barracks. Mentally, I’ll make a note to take them out once in a while to the swamp to train.

sGE: version 5.0

Many others will be doing their fair share of updates regarding what’s new of version 5.0, but heck! I wanna do my own!

First thing you see: the log in page~ Too bad the game is not able to record down screenshots taken at the login page, plus my moniter blocks off the bottom half of the whole game window so… Not gonna show you guys. Go log in and see for yourself. All I can say is that they refurbished the overall layout of the UI, so it just needs that little bit of getting used to. The Barracks looks extremely different now. Gone are the boxes at the bottom of screen, leaving more space to enjoy the full view of the room your characters reside in.

The Barracks of version 5.0

You can change the name of each of your different barracks, so that they no longer sound as dull as “1st Barracks”. Just simply double-click over the name and type in whatever you desire. Looking at the bottom now, you can freely change anyone in your team and go back to your previous map, unlike in the previous versions where you have to go back to your saved location after changing a new team. There’s also the button for your Team selections and basically, everything looks generally spiffy here!

Now on to the actual game UI itself now when you enter the world.

The revamped layout

Well, you’re gonna need some getting used to this layout, for everything’s changed! They’ve compressed everything that was previously found in the Menu drop-down into that middle section of buttons. Clicking on them will bring down even more options, so have fun poking around. One of the things that you’ve got to try is the character’s dress up room. In here, you can freely do any combination of costumes that the current version supports. You can find it under the green emblem, 5th from the right. The next thing you’ll notice is the additional screen that pops up whenever you log into a town, called “Town Movement (Alt+F3)”. You can use this to travel across the town if you happen to be too lazy to go run from the merchants to the Waypoint. And did I mention that this feature and all Waypoints are now free of charge? Only very slight changes to your characters UI, and whenever your character is able to get a brand new stance, the stance window will tell you so. They’ve also added the helpful feature of showing what level can your character attain a certain stance.

Now, the minimap at the top right-hand corner also has its changes. There’s now a server clock which will surely serve its purpose in knowing what time Team Arena starts when you’re over in another time zone. At the bottom you can take screenshots, change the music with the jukebox, ask for help and I’ve forgotten what the house icon does… The radio icon leads you to sGE’s Twitter page on your default browser.

Battle time~

The Battle UI

I don’t have much to say down here actually, it’s just two points. Firstly, you can have the option of permanently displaying the names of all the loot dropped by the monsters. If it gets onto your nerves (like me), just switch them off in the Options window in-game. Secondly, the small window that pops up showing the target you’re attacking is now way better than before: it shows you the class they belong to! Thanks to a pretty cute and straightforward icon on the left while the level is indicated on the right.

Well, that’s that! You can check out the rest of the version updates from the list below or go and poke around on your own. Have fun with the new Granado Espada!

On another (personal) note, Lulubell (Idge) made it to level 100. I am currently juggling between the main team of Vega, Soterius and Reever and manufacturer team of Valentine (Bernelli), Qain (Claude) and Aerith. La Templanza, La Fuerza and El Mago have been exchanged. Elite Camaryllis (Level 96) has been manufactured.

Busy Busy

It was what my family members called a waste of time; for me, it was worth all these hours.

BRAITHWAITE AND HARSTESIA ARE FINALLY AT LVL 100!!!

Now that took me long enough, but with the help of the Home Premium Service and Combat Manuals, the time needed is indeed greatly reduced. Goes to show how much money has to be put into MMOs to excel. Anyway, emo chit-chat aside, it’s on to crafting! Now… which one of my wants do I want to have first…

Premium Treasure Chest [ver 3.4]

Because they were having this on sale at a supposed price of 12k G-points (50% discount), so I got myself one and started it today. Now, I’ll try my best to update the items that I get everyday. I’ve done one week of daily items, so you should already have an idea on what to expect in this version’s daily items. Now, on to selecting the Mysterious Item of the Day.

And that caps it all. Not a good drop list at all, to be honest. Anyway, I hope this is of use to anyone contemplating getting one. Just to let you know, symbols are supposed to drop on the Mysterious Item option.

Discovery!

There’s a section in FanFiction.net dedicated to Granado Espada!

On a side note, Lulubell (Ldge Imbrulia) is added to the Family. For the sake of equips. Training with Aerith at the moment outside Bahia. I might consider adding Edward into this team.

[Event] Andre Costume Design – Results

This competition/event was held during the month of September this year, and results were finally released today. Have a look at the winning entries in the link provided.

From the official announcement: http://ge.iahgames.com/news/newsArticle.aspx?id=1293

So, the 3 participants now have their entries in the hands of IMC, awaiting judgement. Will it be okay for IMC to convert into in-game material? Only time will know…

On one hand, I am happy that we have such talents. Just look at Devonchi’s work. For an artist learning how to use Photoshop, the standard of his/her work is enough to knock me off my feet. However, on the other hand, it saddens me that some potential works couldn’t get to make it in the end, like Delkhaze’s “Icarus”. For that, I will really support it and buy the costume if it ever makes it to sGE’s market. There wasn’t much love for the female Fighter, which I find is a pity. Yet seeing as how the community is controlled by fanboys (they overpopulate women in-game), I really can’t blame them for creating costumes for the ever-popular characters.

Well, what’s the use of whining? Better for me to do my own research and create my own line. Hoping for a second round of Andre Costume Design when this one is over, so that I can try my hand. Maybe one for weapons too?

Achieved!

With much toiling, Riza and Soterius finally made it to level 84. What a big milestone it is for them and me. At the end of the day, they had a little photo shoot at Coimbra, just to commemorate the moment. Reever is, as always, there to witness the event.

DHB and Elite Finisher

DHB and Elite Finisher

Yep, the Dragon Hunter Bayonet. No matter what, despite it’s considerably crappy base AR of 26, it’s still one of my favourite weapons. Every time Soterius brandishes this particular firearm, long minutes will be spent staring at it close-up, admiring its beauty. (Colours seem a little too rich. Should’ve kept the contrast slider low…)

The Ultimate Goal - MASTER.

The Ultimate Goal - MASTER.

But let’s be realistic and set it as Veteran for now… Then Expert and finally the much-coveted MASTER.

Riza: Why cant I get one too?! 3

Riza: "Why can't I get one too?! >3<"

View the bayonet in its full glory! I was at Topolo Durga, where the team can somehow manage the level 96-100 monsters and get pretty decent experience. Of course, Skullic Dungeon is better, but the knockback makes me cringe.

For now, that’s all. After this god-forsaken examinations are over, it’s time to concentrate on leveling up my main team. It’s been too long that they have been left at Veteran Lv. 1 at a pathetic 51%. Oh, and the manufacturers need to be power-leveled too, for the sake of my future equipments. About time I made good use of those peeps taking up Barrack space.

See you all after 14th November, 2009! I’ll be back in FULL SWING.

Addition

Just created a Female Scout yesterday and named her Aerith. This decision was made after much thought, seeing that Reever is working close to his death by following every single Family member in their training. Tiresome… Her role will of course be to assist her kinsmen in their adventures. Till now, she is still waiting for Edward to come and start their training at Rion together.

I’ll try to draw up a simple background story here, followed by a more detailed one about what had exactly happened when she arrived on mainland. Keep a look out!

:D

Hi guys. Twitter will be acting as a simple update tool for my escapades in GE. will post up small snippets while playing, bigger coverages will be in blog posts (e.g. guides, tips, etc.)

toodles,

Photos – Then and Now

So my lovely sister decided to download GE again, which *gasp* brought back ALL the screenshots that I took before that fateful day in February when the game got uninstalled. A couple of them come from my first Colony War, which did not go well at all. What’s to expect from a noob Veteran? I still am one, by the way… Some were from my very first few raids, which I didn’t contribute a lot into, once again due to my low Veteran level. A few come from the aftermath of an event, which resulted in us becoming really bored and coming together for a silly time with the rewards. And then there are screenshots of my own Family around the New World, posing around~ Plus, for dunno what reasons, I took a huge bunch of screenshots while I was at Los Toldos, doing the Baron recruitment quest (Edward is coming). Can’t stand the monsters, some sort of frankenstein-ed stock characters…

Okay so photobucket takes a long time to load… hence the long paragraph up there. In the meantime, let me indulge in the soundtrack collection of the three Pirates of the Caribbean movies. It’s my latest fandom *grins*.

-After [insert explicit amounts of time here]…-

I’m not gonna post all of the above-mentioned screenshots, just some hand-picked ones. Right, from the past then… If I can remember which one is the oldest in the collection.

Running to death. No doubt.

Running to death. No doubt.

Yeah… my death and some of the others of my faction. I really am a noob at then… Just look at the experience level!

We’re home!
Kruez: “Any mail?”
Bing Feng: “Dinner shall be chinese takeaway! Go call Lisa now!”
Reever: “Again?!”

Om nom nom nom… I like how this one turned out.

And finally, a more recent one. In fact it was taken this afternoon only, when I popped by Ustiur to check on the Dragon and Bone equips (they’re crap).

Can I have it?

Can I have it?

I want one! Doesn’t have a proper helm though, and I can’t zoom out far enough to capture it’s entire beauty. What a pity… My characters are just spasming at the sight of the ship. Pirates of the Caribbean is very addictive… Makes me respect Adelina even more now.

Updated my Family page with new avatars of some characters.
