GE EU: 11 [Helping Jack out]

GEEU-073

I got this at the very moment I stepped into the Reboldoeux Stone Pit. Seriously, how does this guy even get notified of my presence? Did I set off one of his traps? Anyway, I was here helping Andre anyway, so I’ll find you, Jack.

GEEU-074

Hello, dear sir.

GEEU-075

But why would you let a stranger into your farms… Never mind, I’ll help you clear it.

GEEU-076

The grammar sucks.

You’re immediately teleported to this instance, so make your way to a pavilion on top of a hill. You can run past the monsters, they don’t matter much in this quest. What’s important is the bears at the hilltop. The bears aren’t tough to get rid of either, so once you kill all of them, you’ve completed the quest. Go talk to Jack again.

GEEU-077

And then, he has another favour to ask of you.

GEEU-078

GEEU-079

Wow, that’s fast. Alright, to the Ferruccio Junction then.

The Bulk of Limestone drops infrequently from the Leaping Crocs? It goes straight into your inventory as it is a quest item (very handy), so if you keep an eye out for how many you’ve collected, in no time at all Jack’s second request is completed. Return to him for your reward.

GEEU-080

You can check Jack’s stats here: link. He’s one of the construction class characters, so his strongest trait is the ability to build turrets and walls on the field to attack and defend from monsters. According to what I remember 2 years ago, he is often used by players who are power leveling some members of their family as quickly as possible by taking them to a low spawn high level area. I don’t know how much things have changed since then, but personally, I won’t be having him in my Family Barracks any time soon.

And we’re done for this quest!

GE EU: 10 [Finding an old armour for Idge]

GEEU-066

Sure, I’ll help you out. But first, some questions to find out more about this statue…

Could you tell me more about the relics around the Ferruccio Statue?

GEEU-068

What do you know about the Ferruccio Statue?

GEEU-069

And an update in our Quest Information box…

GEEU-067

Let’s set off!

Ferruccio Junction is the map after The Reboldoeux Stone Pit. Once you reach there, head to the middle of the map where you’ll see this gigantic statue that’s half-complete and approach this rock.

GEEU-070

GEEU-071

Bring it back to Idge…

GEEU-072

… And we’re done with this quest!

GE EU: 09 [Enhancing, socketing, enchanting, item hotkeys]

This is going to either be really quick or tedious, but if you’ve already had some knowledge of how stat tweaking equipment in Granado Espada works, then you can just take this as a refresher course on the mechanics.

But first, let’s help Idge out. She’ll be bringing us along the introduction of the mechanics anyway, and turns out we’re also introduced to socketing and enchanting.

GEEU-051

GEEU-052

It all works very simple. +1 to +4 has 100% success rates, but starting from +5 onward, it drops down to 50%, then 25% and so on, so you’ll have to add Shiny Crystals or Imperviums to prevent your item from disappearing when your enhancement fails. Your weapon will get an aesthetic glow around it starting from +5 as well.

GEEU-059

This part is new, in which she wants you to answer her question and then you’ll be rewarded for picking the right one. When I did, it gave this horrible klaxon sound that I thought I had picked the wrong answer (because honestly, the question was phrased in a strange way). I do not know what happens when you pick the wrong answer, but use this as a guide to get the correct one.

You can also check this helpful page at ge.jupath.me that informs you on the amount of Shiny Crystals you’ll need to protect your equipment from being destroyed each time you try to enhance it. Check by either the AR or DR of the equipment.

And now we’ve got two more people to talk to, the enchantment merchant and the socket merchant.

GEEU-061

GEEU-062

Enchantment is the process of adding stats to your equipment, like [ATK +35%]. Getting a good set of stats while enchanting all falls down to the Random Number God, so be prepared to spend a lot of enchantment chips to get the best stats. You should look out for stats that like [A.R. +3] and [Damage to Monster Type +xx%]. I did a short write up on enchanting back in 2012, but I think they’re still relevant. You can take a look at it here: link.

Apparently, you can now go back to your previous enchanting results if you want to! But you need to first find that item. I’ll talk more about it when I see it.

GEEU-063

I shall try to explain socketing as briefly as I can. You open sockets in your equipment so that you can attach rumins to them, which will add on even more stats. The higher the grade of rumin you have, the better stats it has. Check this handy list to see what kind of rumins you can get: link.

Getting your first socket has a chance of failure, but it won’t destroy your equipment, it’ll just take your vis only. The second and third socketing attempt will destroy your equipment when the process fails, so make sure that you have Shiny Crystals or Socket Processing Tranquilisers on to protect it.

Again, you’ll have to answer a question, and that klaxon sound goes off again when you get the right answer. I don’t want to know what happens when you pick the wrong one.

Lastly, here’s a quick tip from the Item Merchant!

GEEU-065

I shifted the visual aids around to accommodate everything into one picture. You’ll find this handy enough when fighting against raid bosses.

Idge has one more request that she wants us to help her with, but I’ll leave that to another post as this one is getting way to long. Look forward to the next one!
